Regional Outreach
We are always working to expand our reach across the New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado region so no entrepreneurial dream is left unsupported. Here’s a look at some of our current focus areas around the region:

New Mexico
In Northern New Mexico, ACCION  is collaborating with nearly two dozen organizations as part of the EBS Initiative (Empowering Northern New Mexico’s Business Spirit) to make the region the best place to start or grow a business. Bizport.org is a helpful tool EBS uses to communicate information to the region’s entrepreneurs.

ACCION  also brings its services to the entrepreneurs of Lea County and southeast New Mexico. To create a continuum of services for entrepreneurs in the area, ACCION has developed partnerships with the Small Business Development Center at New Mexico Junior College, Hobbs Chamber of Commerce, Hispano Chamber of Commerce, MainStreet Hobbs, Inc. and the United Way of Lea County and other local organizations.

In Southern New Mexico, ACCION is working with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to enhance access to credit and support services for rural, low-income entrepreneurs in the colonias of Doña Ana, Luna, and Hidalgo counties. Colonias are communities along the U.S.-Mexico border that often lack adequate sewer, water and housing. Some examples of the diverse businesses ACCION has served in the area include a dollar store that provides affordable items for the nearby migrant community, a wrought iron welder, and a dress shop.

Arizona
ACCION has recently begun to bring needed credit and support services to entrepreneurs in the greater Tucson and Phoenix metropolitan areas. Examples of some of the businesses served to date include a daycare center and a gift shop. With the help of community partners and banks, ACCION looks forward to extending its services to hundreds of Arizona entrepreneurs in the months to come.

Colorado
ACCION has also recently embarked on expanding its service area to include entrepreneurs in the Denver metropolitan area.  ACCION is dedicated to building a vibrant client base in Denver with the help of community partners and local financial institutions.
